The pendant is shaped like a fish, the royal emblem of Meenakshi’s Pandya dynasty. Its body is an open golden lattice, with scales picked out in red and green stones, and the goddess sits inside it on her lotus. Red and green beads hang from its curved edge. The chain is made of beaded golden domes over carved lattice panels, each set with a red or green teardrop stone. The matching earrings have a bird stud with a red stone, a beaded dome drop and red and green beads. The rich matte golden finish gives the set a deep, antique glow.
